I’m Tika, a sweet though initially timid female that will brighten your loving home and be your feline friend for a lifetime.

With your patience and a little TLC, I look forward to gently adjusting to my new surroundings, finding my special sunny spots and relaxing while you take care of the day’s business. Or maybe I can curl up right next to you and share my warmth while we catch up on the latest streaming TV. If you’re looking for lifelong feline love and affection, I think we’re a match! Visit the website of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society (Berkeley Humane) at berkeleyhumane.org to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

My name is Gloria, and I’m a super-sweet older lady looking for a home where I can spend my golden years. I’m gentle and loving, and though I like to go outside for a good walk with my people, I also really enjoy snuggling up in a comfy spot for a nice long nap. I’m great company and a wonderful companion to see you through the ups and downs of life. Come meet me in Oakland, where my adoption fee is waived! The East Bay SPCA (EBSPCA) offers walk-in adoptions at its Oakland and Dublin campuses from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. For updated and real-time information on EBSPCA programs and offerings, visit eastbayspca.org/adoptions online.

You’d never know Chewy the shih tzu is 17 years old! Not only is he pretty healthy, he’s still up for walks. We think poor vision and hearing makes Chewy the spicy little guy he is. He lived with one person all his life, and now that familiar face is gone. So Chewy needs lots of time to acclimate to new people. Chewy has recently allowed himself to be leashed but still nips if we try to pet or harness him. Do you have a no-kids, no-cats home where a grumpy little Ewok can take as many months as he needs to heal? To meet Chewy at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS), call 510-337-8565 or visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt online.

Snow Angel has come in from the cold after living his 5 years on the streets. Our member could not bear to put him back. “This guy is super-sweet, loves to be brushed, purrs, sits in your lap and has even been known to drool a little,” she says. Snow Angel is FIV+, which is no longer considered a life-threatening illness, but he may be best as an only cat. To adopt or foster our sweet boy, email Angela at takeakittenhome@gmail.com. Community Concern for Cats (CC4C) now holds weekend adoption events at Pet Food Express stores in Martinez and Concord plus our regular location at 1250-H Newell Ave. in Walnut Creek. Visit communityconcernforcats.org online for more information.

Meet Cash! He’s a handsome guy that loves other dogs! Cash has lots of energy, loves to go for walks and is great on-leash. Cash is playful but can be a bit shy at first. Once he gets to know you, though, he’ll snuggle and cuddle all day. Contact the staff at Milo Point Richmond for assistance from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. any day but Tuesdays at 220 S. Garrard Blvd. in Richmond. Our dedicated staff is on duty every day caring for our animals and has saved more than 39,000 lives in 28 years. For more details, visit milofoundation.org/contact-us.

While walking a dog in a Concord BART parking lot we came across a kitten crying his little heart out. He was sitting next to a car, and when we tried to coax him to us he ran up into the engine. We waited for the car owner, who said the kitten was not his but helped us coax the little guy out and on his way to love, warmth and safety. He’s 5 months old now, and we named him Bart, of course. He has been super-sweet from the start and playful with people and other cats. Bart is also a talker when he wants something. He loves treats and playing with mouse toys. For more information about Bart or any other adoptable pets with the Contra Costa (CCSPCA), call Pat at 925-323-0667.
