I’m Feline Dion: With me, every day is a power ballad of feline love! The Reason: I’m a wonderfully friendly gal who enjoys being with my person and sharing My Love for a lifetime! I’ll enjoy fun, interactive times, but I’m also just fine lounging about while you take care of the day’s business! Of course my favorite thing is Falling Into You by getting chin scratches and happily meowing my adoration! My Heart Will Go On and on with joy for years and years to come … yours, too! Visit the website of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society (Berkeley Humane) at berkeleyhumane.org to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

Hi there! I’m Penny, a spayed 5-year-old female German Shepherd. My favorite activities are going on long hikes, playing fetch and getting yummy treats. As you might guess from my breed, I’m super smart and have an incredible nose! I love to keep my brain just as active as my body, so if you’ve been hoping to find a dog who’s eager to learn new things, I’m your gal. Do you have room in your life for a smart and silky-soft dog like me? Come meet me in Oakland where my fee is waived. The East Bay SPCA (EBSPCA) offers walk-in adoptions at its Oakland and Dublin campuses from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. For updated and real-time information on EBSPCA programs and offerings, visit eastbayspca.org/adoptions online.

Ruthie is a shy but very sweet 4-year-old German Shepherd with a beautiful black and cream coat. She knows “sit,” “shake”, and “down” and is eager to please. She would love to lie at your feet while you work at home.

She’s a tall, long-legged gal who weighs a slender 54 pounds and though she gets a little nervous in new situations, she’s easy for an adult to handle on leash. She enjoys walks, runs, hikes and car rides, and seems to like other dogs. With a supportive home to continue to build up her confidence, Ruthie would make a great family member. Come meet Ruthie at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS), open noon to 4 Wednesday, Friday and Saturday or by appointment, and help us find this sweetheart a home for the holidays while adoption fees are just $25! More info is available at 510-337-8565 or visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt online.

Long white whiskers adorn our lovely Wilma. In her young life she has lived on the streets in a warehouse area until trapped and fostered with her second litter of kittens. Wilma is a shyly affectionate girl that will become a dear companion to a patient human. To meet her, contact Jaime at jamiecr@comcast.net. Community Concern for Cats (CC4C) now holds weekend adoption events at Pet Food Express stores in Martinez and Concord plus our regular location at 1250-H Newell Ave. in Walnut Creek. Visit communityconcernforcats.org online for more information.

It’s hard being a shy kitty in a busy rescue. You get overlooked in favor of the more gregarious critters. But what is a cat anyway but someone to calm and sooth you. And who better to do that than sweet, calm, shy Odette. She’s waiting for you. Contact the staff at Milo Point Richmond for assistance from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Tuesdays at 220 S. Garrard Blvd. in Richmond. Our dedicated staff is on duty every day caring for our animals and has saved more than 39,000 lives in 28 years. For more details, visit milofoundation.org/contact-us.

Fun loving Barney, a 2-year-old Shih Tzu Wire Hair Terrier mix, would make a great addition to your family. Watching him run through the house throwing a toy in the air makes even a bad day laughable. And he collects shoes but never chews them. Teach him to organize by size and you’ve got a helper for life. He’s so smart and has come a long way from when he first came to us, abandoned and scared. No more! For more information about this or any other adoptable pets with the Contra Costa (CCSPCA), call Pat at 925-323-0667.
