CONCORD — A Pittsburg man arrested last week on suspicion of fatally stabbing another man has been identified by authorities.
Eric Martinez, 41, has been charged by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office with the murder of 53-year-old Concord resident Daniel Quast. The fatal stabbing happened Feb. 22 in a mobile home park, at a residence on Lodge Drive, police said.
Officers and medical personnel found Quast with at least one stab wound when they responded around 5:22 a.m., Concord police spokeswoman Corp. Summer Galer said. They pronounced Quast dead at the scene after trying to save him.
Police have not released details of the stabbing but did say that it occurred after a fight between the two men.
Detectives later found Martinez at his Pittsburg residence. He is also charged with using a deadly weapon and violating his probation.
Martinez remained in the county jail in Martinez on Tuesday in lieu $1.030 million.
